Georgia Homeowners Use Handgun To Defend Against Attackers

Three Georgia teenagers made their first mistake when they decided to steal a car on Sunday evening. They made their second mistake when they picked the car of a gun owner.

According to police, two teens came into the yard during a downpour and entered one of the vehicles in the driveway. The homeowner and his wife came out of their residence and tried to stop the two suspects — who had a third teen waiting in a nearby car. One of the teens knocked the homeowner’s 8½-month pregnant wife the ground during the scuffle.
One of the teens brandished a gun, so the homeowner fired his own pistol at them, striking one assailant. As they fled, the suspects’ vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run accident, but did not stop.

The wounded suspect was dropped off at a hospital. Two other  suspects were nabbed by the police not long after.

One of the teens was charged with aggravated assault (for pointing the vehicle at the homeowners), entering an automobile and criminal trespass. A second teen was charged with battery (for knocking the pregnant woman down), entering an automobile and criminal trespass. The last kid was charged with criminal trespass and entering an automobile.
