Two men broke into an Orange County home at about 12:30 a.m. Witnesses said they were tying up the man inside, when his wife pulled a handgun.
She exchanged gunfire with one of the intruders and was shot in the arm, but kept firing.
Upon hearing the erupting gun battle, a neighbor rushed over with his handgun, shooting at and killing one of the suspects.
Police are not sure why the assailants broke into the house, and the search continues for the intruder.
The woman’s wounds were not life threatening, and she is recovering at the local hospital.
