HCA Target Certification Program

Dear HCA Members:

Why should fishermen have all the fun?

Target

NewNow if you go down to the range and shoot a great group, you can have your target authenticated by HCA and receive a handsome certificate to proudly display your achievement.

Here’s how our new HCA Target Certification Program works.  It’s easy.  Simple. And fun.

First, with a friend or range officer as a witness, fire a string of five shots from any handgun at a distance of 15 yards.  Then have your target signed by your witness and mail it to us with our application form and a check for $20.00.  ($30.00 for non-members.)

If your shots are within a 6-inch group, you qualify as a Marksman.  Within 4-inches, you are a Sharpshooter.  Within 2-inches, you are an Expert.  (No stray bullet holes accepted.)

Be sure to tell us the type of firearm, caliber, ammunition used, date, location, the name of your witness, and the proper spelling of your name, so we can record all that information on your official HCA Certificate.

Yes, this is the honor system just like in golf or fishing.  But we think it’s a great way for handgun owners (who don’t have the time to join competitions) to have more fun at the range and develop their skill.

Imagine displaying an HCA Target Certificate on your wall for every handgun you own!   Now that would be impressive.

So have fun shooting and be sure to tell us what you think of our new Target Certification Program and how you think we can improve it.
